"Who Let the Letters Out?" Phonics Game:
Make a paper dog house with a cut out door and laminate. Attach to magnetic board. Place magnetic letters in dog house door.Have each child pick a magnetic letter from dog house and sing the "Who Let the Letters Out?" chant. For example, the child picking the letter A would sing:
Who let the A out? /A/ /A/ /A/ /A/
Who let the A out? /A/ /A/ /A/ /A/

Math:
1. Pattening using animal erasers or counters.
2. Estimation- estimate how many animal counters are in a jar.
3. Number Sequencing- put numbered dog dishes or dog bones in numeric order
4. Number Recognition and Counting- children place dog biscuits in bowls according to the numbers in the bowls
5. Graphing- graph favorite pets
6. Sequencing- sequence toy dogs and cats according to size.

Art:
1. Paper plate cat and dog heads
2. Fishbowl crayon-resist paintings- children use crayons to draw fish and aquatic plants in fishbowl pattern. Children paint over fishbowl with blue watercolor paint. Paint will resist crayon and create a beautiful fishbowl scene.
3. Paper plate turtle- Children cover plate with green tiussue paper or construction paper squares. Add head and leg patterns.
